Reservation Policy

ACCOMMODATION

Your check in time is 16:00. Check out time is 10:00am.  

We will always endeavour to have your property prepared and ready for this time, however, we would ask for your patience and understanding if access to your property may be delayed due to the additional regimes we are now following. 

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

All bookings are provisional until confirmed in writing from info@lochtayholidaylodges.com

Accepted methods of payment include credit or debit card.

You must be at least 18 years of age before we can accept a booking from you.

An initial deposit of 20% is required to secure your booking, with the balance of payment then due 4 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. A gentle reminder will be issued prior to your 4 week deadline. If no payment is received then we will unfortunately have to cancel your booking.

Any bookings made within 4 weeks of your holiday will need to be paid in full. 

 

WEATHER

The Scottish weather can be a bit unpredictable, and we can't be held responsible for any travel disruptions resulting in non-arrival because of bad weather.   

 

ON ARRIVAL

The keysafe code will be sent to you on your day of arrival and must not be disclosed to others outwith your party. 

 

THE PARK

All of our lodges are in a beautiful park that is surrounded by stunning countryside. With mountains on one side and Loch Tay on the other, the ground is rarely flat and there are many paths that are not paved and the lights can be on the dim side, so please take care when in the park and we highly recommend bringing a torch for any evening activities.

THE RESTAURANT

The onsite Restaurant 'The Boathouse' is open on a seasonal basis from February and opening times may vary. You can check opening times by calling  01567 820853 and can book tables on https://www.opentable.co.uk/

SECURITY DEPOSIT / DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

As our lodges are privately owned we will take a £150 refundable good housekeeping deposit which will be charged with your balance payment.

If damage has occurred or excessive cleaning required we reserve the right to retain the refundable deposit. You will be responsible for, and agree to reimburse, all costs incurred by us as a result of any breakage or damage in or to the property which is caused by you or any members of your party or any other persons invited into the property by you.

We reserve the right to make charges against credit cards to invoice for all damages and losses.

As a privately owned lodge that we love to holiday in ourselves, we would ask you to really look after our lodges and to also have a great time whilst you are here. 

 

CHILDREN

The park and surrounding area is brilliant for children but it does have it's hazards, so please remember that children remain your responsibility, you know where they are at all times and that they are appropriately supervised. 

 

BEHAVIOUR

You will be responsible for the behaviour of all members of your party so please show consideration to other guests, staff and our beautiful location.

Please be aware of the park rules regarding speed limit. 

The park and our lodges are very family friendly and we do not allow any noisy or disruptive behaviour, quiet time is after 10:00pm so please adhere to acceptable noise levels,

Any dogs should be kept under full control.

Should any behaviour be considered inappropriate it may result in you or a member of your party being asked to leave the location immediately. No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances and we reserve the right to claim compensation for damages or inconvenience caused.

 

LOST PROPERTY

Personal property of visitors occupying our accommodation is not our responsibility and vehicles and personal property are left at your own risk.

Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any items left behind or other lost property but we will endeavour to reunite you with anything that we do find that you may have lost or forgotten to take home with you.

 

NO SMOKING 

All of our lodges and shared amenity areas are strictly no smoking. 

 

DOGS & PETS

If you want to bring a dog or a pet to our pet friendly lodges, you must tell us when you book. Dogs need to have their own bed if you bring them and no more than 2 dogs can be accommodated in any lodge.

We ask that dogs do not go on the furniture or the beds and please clean up any mess they make and put it in the dog waste bins around the park.

We strongly advise you to get enough insurance cover before you book your holiday.

 

VEHICLES

Our lodge will allow parking for one or two cars depending upon the size of the vehicle, additional vehicles can use the main car park at the restaurant.

Please DO NOT Park on the grass, which will cause damage, or in such a way that you are obstructing another properties’ access. 

Please note that the park uses CCTV with Number Plate recognition; this is for your security. You should comply with the park speed limit of 5mph.

Charging electric vehicles from the lodge is not acceptable.

 

COMPLAINTS

We want you to have a great holiday in our lodges, and we will do our very best to make sure you do. However, if you have any issues with your property, we as the booking agent and owner need to know right away if anything goes wrong in your lodge. It is difficult to fix problems if you don’t tell us quickly. 

 

DEPARTURE AND CLEANING OF PROPERTY

Please leave the accommodation clean, tidy and undamaged, our lodges are privately owned and we do rely on guests doing their part to leave it in the same condition when they arrived.

Please empty the bins at the recycling centre at the entrance to the park.

It is very rare we charge a further cleaning charge so please don't let us charge you! 

 

DEPARTURE CHECKS

Please strip all bedding
Please switch off all heaters in the property, except the bathroom towel rail, and close all windows.

Please report any damage or breakages before you leave

On leaving, please lock the door and put your key back into the keysafe

 

WEBSITES AND ADVERTISEMENTS

We aim to ensure that the information and descriptions provided are accurately conveyed on our website and any authorised third-party websites or advertisements.

There may be small differences in descriptions and services as there are many unauthorised websites listing holiday accommodation and we cannot accept responsibility for the descriptions on these sites if they are inaccurate.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION

The Foreign and Commonwealth Travel Advice Unit may have issued health and / or safety information about your holiday destination. You are advised to check this information by visiting the FCO website directly: www.fco.gov.uk or travelaware.campaign.gov.uk. The advice on the FCO website can change so check regularly for updates about your specific holiday destination. 

 

EVENTS OUTWITH OUR CONTROL

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under the Contract that is caused by any act or event beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure Event).

Cancellation Policy

CONTRACTS

All contracts are formed with a right to occupy the accommodation for the agreed period only in accordance with the Housing Scotland Act 1988, Schedule 4, Section 12, paragraph 8.

 

SHOULD YOU NEED TO MAKE ANY CHANGES

We will do our very best to accommodate any changes but please be aware that any date changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Should you need to cancel your booking, you must contact us as soon as you can by email to info@lochtayholidaylodges.com. If this written notice of cancellation is received before the final balance is paid in full, then we will only retain your deposit.

If you cancel after the balance is paid in full, you will not be entitled to any refund unless we consider there to be exceptional circumstances, where we then may consider to offer some level of compensation.

SHOULD WE NEED TO MAKE ANY CHANGES

In the highly unlikely event that we have to make a change to your booking we will endeavour to give as much notice as we can and will do everything we can to sort out alternative accommodation or dates for you.

HOLIDAY INSURANCE

We recommend that guests have travel insurance to protect you from any unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, injury, or death that may occur during your holiday or cause you to cancel.

Please ensure that the insurance cover you have is suitable for your travel and holiday needs. 

 

FORCE MAJEUR

If a Force Majeure Event prevents or delays us from fulfilling our obligations under the Contract, we will not be held accountable or liable for such non-performance or delay. A Force Majeure Event means any circumstance or event that is beyond our reasonable control and that we cannot overcome by exercising reasonable diligence.
